Skin needling also known as microneedling is used to treat and improve conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore sizes and pigmentation.

Skin needling is when the skin is punctured in a specific pattern using a derma roller. The device is rolled over the skin multiple times for best results. As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound stimulating skin cell regeneration.

What to expect after treatment

1. Redness; the most common side affect from skin needling, a cold compress and a good moisturiser will help soothe.

2. Bruising and swelling; you may experience faint bruising and mild swelling after the skin needling but this will fade as your skin heals.

3. Rough skin, visible marks; you may get a few bumps and visible marks, this is because your skin has been through elective trauma. Both these effects are caused by the micro-injuries created by the punters. As your skin heals these marks will fade and your skin will become smoother.

4. Peeling; is normal and an important part of the skin needling process. This is caused by the increase of cell turnover. You can expect peeling to start within 3-5 days after your appointment.

Skin needling relies on your bodies natural inflammatory process to stimulate cell regeneration so it is highly recommended that you stay away from anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen. these types off medication interfere with your body recovery process and affect your results. A cool compress is best used to soothe any discomfort or swelling.
